mediaLAB [2021] DIWO

MediaLAB is an open new media laboratory for critical digital art creation, realized as a collaborative, non-hierarchical art studio for contemporary digital art & paradigm discussion, exchange and creation. The base idea of mediaLAB is to inquire, understand and act on current techno-socio-economical systems which dis/enable a cultural framework for new media creation.

During 2019 and 2020 we have assembled periodically – both offline and online – to assess own positions and articulate new directions towards diverse concepts of digital art sustainability.
These thoughts are collected in the two iterations of our variable Sustainable Digital Art Manifesto:

In 2021 this manifesto is being “built” into a server machine, and will be accessible (currently still as a WiP) online at: suda.formatc.hr
We are also grateful to be conducting an official artist research titled “Autonomna {digitalna | mrežna} umjetnost“, during Mar-Sep 2021, which will deal with the question of infrastructural autonomy of digital objects (TBA in more detail).

Applications to participate are open continuously, via hacklab01.org/medialab
