OTVORENI POZIV [24.1. - 13.2.2017.]
Novi postav izložbe free_art_-_source otvoren je međunarodnim prijavama autora i autorica [umjetnika i umjetnica, programera i programerki, majstor(ic)a kolažiranja koda] recentne novomedijske umjetnosti. Koncept iniciran od strane umjetničke organizacije Format C bit će predstavljen u ožujku 2017., u Galeriji Galženica (Velika Gorica) – neprofitnoj galeriji koja od 1980. slijedi, promovira i producira suvremenu umjetnost.
Tema izložbe je izvor u konstrukciji decentraliziranog konteksta računalno generirane umjetnosti i kulture novih medija. Poziv je otvoren izvornom kodu Vaše umjetnosti, skriptama koje grade Vašu umjetnost ili tekstualnoj prezentaciji podataka koji Vašu umjetnost sačinjavaju.
Bez strogih formalnih limitacija, prihvaćamo djela koja uključuju: html, skripte, bilo koji format tekstualnog ispisa, isječke programskih jezika, … Djelo treba biti moguće isprintati, trebalo bi imati estetsko svojstvo (vizualno i/ili ideološko) i trebalo bi biti prikazano u cijelosti.
Konstrukt Vašega djela može biti potpuno originalan; krojen iz vanjskih izvora; neoriginalan, ali progresivan; “loš” ili briljantan “haiku” kod koji čini čuda za Vaš projekt; ekstremno marginalan ili diskurzivan; u domeni slobodne kulture; s izvorom u strogoj domeni autorskog vlasništva; itd. …
Cilj izložbe je predstaviti razne tehnološko utemeljene sintakse, filozofske pristupe i umjetničke inte/*rve*/ncije pri konstrukciji recentne novomedijske umjetnosti.

- izvorni kod umjetničkog djela/projekta u .txt, .odt, .doc ili .rtf datoteci {A3 / c/b / MAX. 5 stranica / bilo koja veličina slova + font file [if (special)]}
- fotografija i/ili zapis zaslona vizualne prezentacije (rezultata) djela (min. 1080px po kraćoj stranici)
- kratak (tehnički) opis + hiperlink prema Vašem djelu
- Vaš web i kratka biografija relevantna za temu
Molimo Vas da djela predate u tekstualnom formatu. Kod/djelo otiskujemo samo u svrhe izložbe u fizičkom prostoru, a uz tekst datoteku neophodni su i fotografija i/ili dokumentarni zapis medijskog djela izgrađenog Vašim kodom, te Vaši podaci. Priložena dokumentacija djela s Vašim podacima bit će korišteni u svrhe javnog promoviranja Vašeg rada i djelovanja.

OPEN CALL [Jan 24th - Feb 13th 2017]
The second iteration of free_art_-_source exhibition is open to new media art authors’ (artists, coders, clever copycats) worldwide submissions for an exhibition initiated by Format C artist organization and to be held @ Galženica Gallery (Velika Gorica, CRO), a non-profit gallery following, promoting and producing contemporary art since 1980.
The theme is our source, constructing the rhizomatic context of computer-based new media art and culture. We are looking for the source code of your art, scripts that make up the features of your art or the textual representation of the data your art is built out of.
That could include: html, scripts, any media printable text format, any programming language snippets,.. No formal limitations other than it being character printable, it should have an aesthetic property (visual and/or ideological) and it should be shown in full. It can be completely original; compiled from other sources; utterly unoriginal but aesthetically progressive; completely horrific or a brilliant haiku-type code that does wonders for your curious project; something highly fringe or discursive; something free; something stolen; etc. …
The objective of the expo is to show diverse technological syntaxes, philosophical approaches and artistic inte/*rve*/ntions in the construction of recent new media art.

- web or profile and a short (on-topic) biography
Please use only text formats to submit your work. The code/work file will be hardcopied and used for RL exhibition purposes only, and the provided image(s) - photographs and/or a documentative screencap of the media work, along with credits and links will be utilized to publicly promote your work.
! The deadline for participating in the open call is Feb 13th 2017, 23:59 CET, and the exhibition is to be held in March 2017.
