MediaLAB is an open new media laboratory for critical digital art creation, realized as a collaborative, non-hierarchical art studio for contemporary digital art & paradigm discussion, exchange and creation. The base idea of mediaLAB is to inquire, understand and act on current techno-socio-economical systems which dis/enable a cultural framework for new media creation. The program wishes to support any and all authors (both artists and “non-artists”) interested in creating via a collaborative, experimental workflow, by means of free, open source software and permissive licensing, while inquiring on pre-conceived new media standards, their repercussions and potential intersectional grounds.
