Command line scripting in art
Open source software as an effective means to save money and increase knowledge
Operating systems such as Windows 10 and macOS create a mindset where the user ceases to seek out the most useful or flexible way of achieving a task in favor of a default or most popular application, usually an application which locks out functionality until the user upgrades to a paid version or locks a user in to a bloated ecosystem using proprietary formats requiring ever more powerful and expensive hardware when only one elegant tool was needed.
This series of workshops seeks to address and offer solutions to escape that mindset by showing simple alternatives for the various tasks an average non-specialist user might wish to do such as basic image and sound editing, video conversion for uploading to social media all of which can be done quickly and more efficiently using open source software and the command line, saving time, effort and money.
The workshop takes place online on four dates divided into two modules, three hours each day. The first module is introductory and focuses on demonstrations of setting up and using the software, while the second module deals with advanced techniques and focuses on practical exercises.
Applications are mandatory:
Module 1 (Sept 17 & 24 2022) – https://cloud.hacklab01.org/index.php/apps/forms/PjWESYFo2Edej4jw
Module 2 (Oct 8 & 15 2022.) – https://cloud.hacklab01.org/index.php/apps/forms/s8dgJBSwqbrTGHzY
Timetable (CEST GMT+2):

Umjetničko skriptiranje u komandnoj liniji
Otvorenim softverom do znanja i uštede
