This video glitch art workshop presents a relevant video reinterpretation concept – datamosh. The session introduction will cover various methods, techniques and practices of datamoshing in video art. Participants will use free software to transcode, modify, conserve their video work and to create sustainable digital errors.
By moshing video – workshop attendees will acquire different digital art and software skills as well as a broader understanding of digital formats, containers, codecs, software and licensing as the base elements of contemporary digital production.
The workshop consists of 2 x 1.5 hour modules, which will take place on Fri June 3rd 2022 from 11.00 to 14.00h CEST/UTC+02 via our online open platform.

No prior knowledge or Glitch art experience is necessary to attend but participants do need to have own computers (almost any CPU power is fine) with a stable network connection and a microphone.
Participants should prepare and bring their videos (any short format) to work on but are also welcome to bring any adequately licensed found material.

This glitch art workshop is a part of the “FUSE – Film Under Severe Experiment” Festival in 2022., patroned by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Karlovac Association of Technical Culture and the City of Karlovac, and tech supported by the KAoperativa Alliance.
The workshop is led by the Format C Artist Organization (Dina Karadžić & Vedran Gligo) as part of the /’fu:bar/ Glitch Art Festival project pre-programme in 2022.
